Description
Nothing brings a crowd to the kitchen faster than the bold, fiery crunch of Texas firecrackers. These crispy, flavor-packed bites wrapped in spice and ranch seasoning have a way of vanishing by the handful.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box (16 oz) Saltine crackers (about 4 sleeves)
- 1 cup Canola oil (or vegetable oil)
- 1 packet dry ranch dressing mix
- 1 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
Instructions
- Place all saltine crackers into a large sealable plastic bag or airtight container. Keep them stacked neatly to avoid breaking.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the canola oil, ranch mix, crushed red pepper flakes, garlic powder, and onion powder until fully combined.
- Pour the mixture over the crackers. Seal the bag or container and gently turn it multiple times to coat all the crackers evenly without breaking them.
- Let the coated crackers sit for 15 minutes, then flip the bag or container again. Allow the crackers to soak up the flavor for 3 to 4 hours or ideally overnight, flipping occasionally.
- Once theyβre dry and flavorful, transfer to an airtight container. Serve straight from the jar or bowl.
Notes
- Ensure the crackers are fully coated by turning the bag slowly and allowing enough time to soak in flavors.
- Customize the spiciness by adjusting the amount of crushed red pepper flakes.
- For an extra kick, consider adding a bit of cayenne pepper to the mixture.
