Description

Indulge in the rich, nostalgic delight of Peanut Butter and Jelly Brownies, blending timeless flavors in this classic dessert recipe.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tbsp softened butter, for greasing
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • Β½ tsp kosher salt
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 sticks (Β½ lb) butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp neutral oil
  • 1 tbsp pure vanilla extract
  • Β½ cup (about 6 oz) creamy peanut butter
  • Β½ cup (about 6 oz) jelly or preserves (cherry or grape recommended)
  • flaky sea salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350Β°F. Grease a 9Γ—13-inch baking dish with softened butter and line with parchment paper, greasing the paper as well.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, and kosher salt.
  3. In a larger bowl, beat eggs until frothy. Gradually whisk in granulated sugar until thick and pale. Stir in melted butter, neutral oil, and vanilla extract.
  4. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until smooth and fully combined. Pour the batter into the prepared dish, spreading evenly with a spatula.
  5. Dollop peanut butter and jelly onto the surface and swirl with a knife to create a marbled effect.
  6. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs. Let cool, then lift out and cut into squares.

Notes

  • Ensure butter is at room temperature for smooth swirling.
  • Don’t over-swirl to maintain a distinct marbled effect.
  • Fresh cocoa powder enhances chocolate flavor.
