Experience the luxury and freshness of a homemade Grape Mille Feuille with layers of crispy filo, silky mascarpone, and fresh grapes.

Ingredients

  • Mascarpone (250g)
  • Marsala (1 tbsp)
  • Icing sugar mixture (1/4 cup or 45g)
  • Filo pastry (6 sheets)
  • Butter (50g, melted)
  • Green grapes (1/2 cup, halved)
  • Black grapes (1/2 cup, halved)
  • Figs (2, thinly sliced)
  • Caster sugar (1/2 cup or 100g)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C / 350°F.
  2. Mix mascarpone, marsala, and 2 tablespoons of icing sugar in a small bowl, then refrigerate.
  3. Line a baking tray with paper and lay one filo sheet on a clean surface. Brush with butter and sprinkle icing sugar. Repeat with remaining filo sheets.
  4. Cut filo stack into 12 rectangles and bake for 5 minutes until golden. Cool completely.
  5. Place one filo rectangle on each serving plate. Spoon half of the mascarpone mixture and arrange half the grapes and figs. Repeat layers.
  6. Melt caster sugar in a pan until caramelized and drizzle over each mille feuille. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use fresh, firm grapes for the best texture and flavor.
  • Allow the pastry cream to chill thoroughly.
  • Ensure filo pastry is crisp by not overloading with cream.
