Ingredients
Scale
Sliders:
- 1 package (12-count) King’s Hawaiian Rolls
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 large yellow onion, halved and sliced
- 2 cups shredded or thinly sliced roast beef
- 8 slices provolone cheese
- ½ cup au jus (store-bought or homemade)
Garlic Butter Topping:
- ¼ cup melted butter
- 1 ½ teaspoons minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon finely chopped parsley
- ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
Instructions
- Caramelize the Onions: In a skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add sliced onions and cook for 25-30 minutes, stirring occasionally until golden brown and caramelized.
- Preheat the Oven: Set oven temperature to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Prepare the Rolls: Keep the Hawaiian rolls attached and slice them in half horizontally. Place the bottom half in the baking dish.
- Layer the Sliders: Arrange 4 slices of provolone cheese, followed by roast beef, caramelized onions, and the remaining 4 slices of cheese. Place the top half of the rolls on top.
- Make the Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, mix melted butter, minced garlic, parsley, and salt.
- Apply the Butter Topping: Brush the garlic butter mixture generously over the tops of the sliders.
- Bake: Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve: Let cool for 5 minutes, then slice and serve warm with au jus for dipping.
Notes
- Swap provolone for Swiss, Gruyere, or cheddar for a different flavor.
- To make homemade au jus, melt 4 tablespoons butter, whisk in 2 tablespoons flour, then slowly add 2 ½ cups beef broth and 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, cooking until slightly thickened.
- Serve with fries, coleslaw, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
