Description

Blueberry Cream Cheese Rolls are fluffy, golden sweet rolls filled with tangy cream cheese and juicy blueberries, topped with a glossy glaze and almonds perfect for brunch or a cozy weekend treat.


Ingredients

  • 1 package active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 2 tbsp white vinegar
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2/3 cup cold butter
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs, room temperature
  • 2 sticks butter, melted
  • 2 cups fresh blueberries
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1/8 tsp almond or vanilla extract
  • Sliced almonds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine yeast and warm water. Let sit for 10 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk flour, sugar, salt, baking soda, and baking powder.
  3. Cut cold butter into the flour mixture until pea-sized crumbs form.
  4. Add yeast mixture and milk to dry ingredients. Stir until dough forms and knead a few turns.
  5. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise for 70 minutes until doubled.
  6. Beat softened cream cheese until fluffy. Add sugar and eggs, mix until smooth.
  7. Roll dough on a floured surface into a large rectangle, 1/8-inch thick.
  8. Brush melted butter over the dough. Spread cream cheese filling, then scatter blueberries.
  9. Roll dough into a log and cut into 24 equal pieces.
  10. Place rolls into 2 greased 9Γ—13 pans. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  11. In the morning, let rolls sit at room temperature. Preheat oven to 400Β°F.
  12. Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden. Brush with 2 tbsp melted butter and return to oven for 1 minute.
  13. Whisk glaze ingredients until smooth. Drizzle over slightly cooled rolls and garnish with sliced almonds.

Notes

  • Don’t overfill the rolls to prevent leaking during baking.
  • Freeze assembled but unbaked rolls to enjoy later.
  • Let rolls cool slightly before glazing to keep icing from melting off.
