Blueberry Cream Cheese Rolls are fluffy, golden sweet rolls filled with tangy cream cheese and juicy blueberries, topped with a glossy glaze and almonds perfect for brunch or a cozy weekend treat.

- 1 package active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup warm water
- 2 tbsp white vinegar
- 2 cups milk
- 2/3 cup cold butter
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 5 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, room temperature
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs, room temperature
- 2 sticks butter, melted
- 2 cups fresh blueberries
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp milk
- 1/8 tsp almond or vanilla extract
- Sliced almonds (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine yeast and warm water. Let sit for 10 minutes until foamy.
- In a large bowl, whisk flour, sugar, salt, baking soda, and baking powder.
- Cut cold butter into the flour mixture until pea-sized crumbs form.
- Add yeast mixture and milk to dry ingredients. Stir until dough forms and knead a few turns.
- Cover with plastic wrap and let rise for 70 minutes until doubled.
- Beat softened cream cheese until fluffy. Add sugar and eggs, mix until smooth.
- Roll dough on a floured surface into a large rectangle, 1/8-inch thick.
- Brush melted butter over the dough. Spread cream cheese filling, then scatter blueberries.
- Roll dough into a log and cut into 24 equal pieces.
- Place rolls into 2 greased 9Γ13 pans. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
- In the morning, let rolls sit at room temperature. Preheat oven to 400Β°F.
- Bake for 25β30 minutes until golden. Brush with 2 tbsp melted butter and return to oven for 1 minute.
- Whisk glaze ingredients until smooth. Drizzle over slightly cooled rolls and garnish with sliced almonds.
Notes
- Donβt overfill the rolls to prevent leaking during baking.
- Freeze assembled but unbaked rolls to enjoy later.
- Let rolls cool slightly before glazing to keep icing from melting off.
